OMBRA is a music collective seeking to break free from the conventions of classical repertoire, venue and instrumentation. Formed in January 2019 by young professional musicians from South London, the ensemble's aim is to present contrasting works in a fresh approach to programming and to bring the thrill and excitement back into concert-going.

With backgrounds including Conservatoire training, classical improvisation, folk music and PhD research on early recordings, OMBRA are risk-takers who prove they are not afraid to create unique sounds in their thematic and conceptual performances. From recital hall to living room, church to pub, OMBRA seek to engage a wide demographic without the constraints of standard performance practice.
